5 things we learned from Paris Fashion Week – and why you’ll be flashing some flesh for Autumn/Winter 2017

Paris Fashion Week is over for another season and it proved to be one of the best years yet. Brands such as Chloe, Saint Laurent, Balmain and Dior all showcased their collections for AW17 with celebrity-filled FROWs.

While pop star Nicki Minaji exposed her boob , Azealia Banks showed us her bottom , and Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were all loved up, that didn’t distract us from the fabulous fashion on the catwalks.

Here’s a round up of what is in store for AW17, and let’s hope the high street picks up on these to-die-for trends.

1. Love is in the air

Models clapped and sang for hope and love at the end of Stella McCartney’s show, with a soundtrack of George Michael’s Faith. And Dior wore their heart on their shoes, while Chloe opted for a cut-out heart on a velvet dress. Much like Luella’s famous dresses back in 2010.

2. All that glitters

Instagram blew up when these glittery boots shimmied down the catwalk, everyone fell in love. Paired with a embellished, glitter cable knit, we hope and pray the high street creates its own version.

3. Oversized

Celine went oversized for AW17 with huge scarves that looked more like floor rugs. Balenciaga took handbags to new heights with their latest coming in laundry-bag size. They might break your back, but you’ll be able to fit all your worldly goods in.

4. Leather

So as obvious as it seems for winter, leather will be big. From cute berets from Dior, and head-to-toe animal leather from Balmain, leather will be the easiest and most stylish trend of all.

5. Winter sheer

Look forward to flashing some flesh in winter, well sort of. Giambattista Valli and Ellie Saab both chose sheer detailing on their dresses and blouses to keep you looking and feeling sexy in colder months.
